PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new therapeutic agent for dealing with a human disease. SOLUTION: A compound useful as a protein kinase inhibitor is disclosed. A composition including such compound and a method of the use are disclosed. In detail, a compound as an inhibitor of Aurora-2 protein kinase is disclosed. In more detail, a compound of formula IIIa, or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or prodrug thereof, and a method treating a disease relevant to a protein kinase, especially a disease relevant to Aurora-2 (for example, cancer) are disclosed.
