PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for a multiple cylinder engine capable of reducing the circulation resistance of an intake air while securing a degree of freedom in the design of a vehicle around an engine hood, when a surge tank whose internal space is divided into an upper part and a lower part is used as the surge tank. SOLUTION: This intake device 10 for a multiple cylinder engine has a surge tank 13 which is located at a position higher than a cylinder head of an engine 3 and whose internal space is divided into an upper part 13a and a lower part 13b when mounted to the engine 3 that is a multiple cylinder engine with V-type 6 cylinders; a valve body 4 for opening and closing an opening 20 formed at a partition wall 19 blocking the upper part 13a and the lower part 13b; and an actuator 2 for driving the valve body 4 so as to be opened and closed.
