PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of combustion and improve drivability by securing appropriate air density according to a change of fuel pressure in a control device for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An ECU 71 corrects a throttle valve 33 in a close direction by an electronic throttle device 34 to reduce the density of air flowing in a combustion chamber 18 while keeping a fuel injection quantity and an air quantity constant when fuel pressure in the delivery pipe 46 is raised to a predetermined designated value, and corrects the throttle valve 33 in an open direction by the electronic throttle device 34 to raise the density of air flowing into the combustion chamber 18 while keeping the fuel injection quantity and the air quantity constant when fuel pressure is raised from the designated value.
