Disclosed are a material for capturing microbes or the like, a device for capturing microbes or the like, a method of capturing microbes or the like and a method of producing a material for capturing microbes or the like by using a pulverizable resin whereby a minor amount of microbes or the like contained in a large amount of a liquid or microbes or the like contained in a small amount of a liquid can be efficiently, quickly, labor-savingly and surely captured. A material for capturing microbes or the like, which comprises irregular-shaped powdery grains made of a pulverizable and adsorptive resin and having a grain size distribution within a definite range and can adsorb a target such as microbes or the like in a liquid or bind thereto; a device for capturing microbes or the like; and a method of capturing microbes or the like. Also disclosed is a method of storing target microbes or the like which comprising a step for suspending the powdery grains as described above in a liquid containing the target.
