The method involves storing a calibration file (26) in a zone of a permanent memory e.g. electrically EPROM, where the file comprises calibrations (cal1-cal3) for calibrating an application software, and a data structure (14) including pointers associated to the calibrations. An ordered collection of switch indexes is written in another zone of the permanent memory to select one of the pointers in the data structure towards one of the calibrations contained in the former zone of the permanent memory. An independent claim is also included for an on-board computer comprising a memory.
