PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high image quality image forming apparatus capable of taking measures against both of soiling and dew condensation on a transparent member such as a dustproof glass at a low cost with compact configuration, without increasing a waiting time for a printable state even in the situation with the dew condensation. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: air sending means 61 and 62 for sending air between the transparent member 43 of an exposure means 50 and an image carrier 82; an outside circulation path 7A for guiding the external air taken from a suction port 70 in between the transparent member 43 of the exposure means 50 and the image carrier 82, and then, discharging the air outside through the discharge port 74; an inside circulation path 7B for guiding the air inside the image forming apparatus in between the transparent member 43 of the exposure means 50 and the image carrier 82, and circulating the air in the image forming apparatus; a path switching means 63 for switching between the outside circulation path 7A and the inside circulation path 7B; and a control means 101 for controlling the path switching means 63 to switch the paths.
