<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel structure expanding a dynamic range without enlarging a pixel area. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an imaging area comprising a plurality of unit pixels each including: a photoelectric conversion section for photoelectrically converting incident light, a first transfer section for transferring generated charge to a floating diffusion area, and an amplification section for outputting a signal amplified based on the charge transferred to the floating diffusion area. In addition to the photoelectric conversion section, a charge accumulation area is provided for accumulating at least a part of the charge generated by the photoelectric conversion section and during a period within a photoelectric conversion period, at least the part of the charge generated by the photoelectric conversion is accumulated on the charge accumulation area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
