PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission which prevents a moment force from being generated to a drive piston, and for reducing influence on a moving range of the power roller, while it is possible to rotationally control a sun gear for controlling an inclination angle of a power roller by a hydraulic servo provided on an outer peripheral side of both disks. SOLUTION: A roller position control device 4 of a variator 1 is drivingly connected with the piston rod 43c of the hydraulic servo 42 and the sun gear 25 respectively, oscillatably supported by a transmission case 3, and equipped with a control bar 41 having a hole part 41c serving as a fulcrum of oscillation. When a driving force is transmitted from the hydraulic servo 42 to the sun gear 25, the moment is prevented from being transmitted from the sun gear 25 to the hydraulic servo 42 and the moving range of the control bar 41 between the power rollers 14 is reduced.
