<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a microcapsule having a uniform particle size distribution, in which an emulsified/dispersed solution of a core substance having the uniform particle size distribution is prepared and the microcapsule is produced stably on an industrial scale and which is used when the microcapsule, which is used for carbonless pressure-sensitive copying paper and has excellent coloring performance, the coarse particle of which hardly causes dirty coloring and which has excellent coloring efficiency, or a thermal storage material microcapsule, which hardly breaks abnormally under a normal usage condition, is produced. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the microcapsule, a high-speed agitation apparatus is used which is provided with: a cylindrical agitation tank; a rotary blade which is concentric with the agitation tank and has the outside diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the agitation tank; and a shaft which has the rotary blade at the end thereof and can be rotated at a high speed so that a liquid, which is to be treated and is introduced into the agitation tank, is agitated while being rotated at the high speed to form a cylindrical thin film along the inner peripheral surface of the agitation tank. The rotary blade has a perforated cylindrical part, which is formed by arranging many small through-holes on the peripheral surface of a cylindrical body of the rotary blade, on the outer peripheral side thereof and is formed into a wheel-like shape by integrating an arm and a boss with the center of the perforated cylindrical part. The method for producing the microcapsule includes the steps of: using the high-speed agitation apparatus; emulsifying/dispersing a hydrophobic liquid in a hydrophilic liquid; and forming a film on the periphery of the emulsified/dispersed hydrophobic liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
