REFRIGERATOR HAVING OPTICAL SENSOR AND DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

A refrigerator having an optical sensor and a display control method are provided to turn off a display in the night to thereby prevent waste of power of the refrigerator. A refrigerator having an optical sensor includes a display(10), an optical sensor(50) and a controller. The display displays information on the refrigerator. The optical sensor is attached to the front side of the refrigerator and senses the surrounding illuminance. The controller controls the display according to the illuminance sensed by the optical sensor.
