<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display apparatus for preventing quality degradation of a display image. <P>SOLUTION: This video display apparatus 1, having a liquid crystal display element 15 of active matrix type includes a first correcting means 42 for detecting gradation of an input image signal and calculating a first correction value, based on the detected gradation; a second correcting means 43 for detecting the polarity of a voltage component applied between a first electrode 22 and a second electrode 24 in the input image signal; and calculating a second correction value based on the detected polarity, and a third correcting means 44 for detecting the wavelength and/or the luminance of the emitted light and calculating a third correction value, based on the wavelength and/or the luminance detected. A correction value for correcting the voltage component applied between the first electrode 22 and the second electrode 24 is calculated, based on the first to third correction values calculated by the first to third correcting means 42 to 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
