<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generator capable of performance within a short time from a start. <P>SOLUTION: When started by power-ON, a CPU 104 transfers part of the waveform data of a predetermined tone from a waveform data storage 103 to a waveform RAM 105, and then transfers data to be transferred including remaining waveform data. Thus, at the end time of the transfer of the part of the waveform data, transferred waveform data are allocated to enable performance.
