The present invention relates to a method of inputting characters using a software keyboard in which an input method according to the number of pressing and a drag method in the direction of up, down, right or down are mixed when inputting characters using a software keyboard. The method of inputting characters using a software keyboard, in which a plurality of characters are allocated to each key, and characters being the same as the plurality of characters are dividingly arranged in all directions centering on each key, is characterized in that if the corresponding keys are sequentially pressed, characters corresponding thereto are inputted according to the number of pressing, and if characters are dragged in a direction where characters intended to input, among the characters dividingly arranged in all directions, are allocated, characters corresponding thereto are inputted.
