A method for diagnosing an unusual state and an apparatus thereof are provided to detect symptoms of electric fires by inspecting a state of a power source which is supplied to a load with a state information detecting device. An apparatus for diagnosing an unusual state of electric fires includes a status information detecting unit(200), an abnormal condition detecting unit(300), and an alarming unit(400). The status information detecting unit stores a state of a power source which is supplied to a load to power source state data. The abnormal condition detecting unit detects poor contact and arc by executing detection algorithm based on stored power source state data. The alarming unit performs an automatic dialing system to a predetermined number corresponding to a generated alarming signal. The alarming unit notifies the electrical poor contact and arc detection on an administrator or a control system.
