<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supporting a member in order to perform these works precisely and efficiently without relying upon the irregular shape of the surface of a member to be supported. <P>SOLUTION: A method for supporting a member by means of a plurality of supports includes a step (S1) for moving a plurality of supports provided at positions opposite to the surface of a member to be supported in the direction of a support for supporting a member and causing the end each of a plurality of supports to abut against a member, a step (S2) for pressing the plurality of supports against ER gel existing in a direction intersecting the supporting direction of the plurality of supports, and a fixing step (S2) for limiting bidirectional movement in the direction parallel with the supporting direction of the plurality of supports by frictional resistance between the plurality of supports and the ER gel produced by applying a predetermined voltage to the ER gel under a state where the end each of a plurality of supports is located according to the irregularities of the surface of a member to be supported and the plurality of supports are pressed against the ER gel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
