The method involves detecting a steering angle by sensor units, and determining a possible traffic lane (2) of an industrial truck through a computing unit on basis of a longitudinal axis. The lane is displayed on a screen (1). The lane is displayed via two perspectively illustrated edge limiting lines (3, 4), which are laterally curved dependent on the steering angle. A surrounding image is recorded by a camera in a forward and reverse driving direction. The surrounding image is displayed on the screen.
