OPTIMIZING THE OPERATION OF A POWER PLANT

In order to obtain an optimized operation of a power plant, particularly a steam power plant, wherein the operation of the power plant can be influenced by at least one predeterminable controlled variable (5), the invention provides to determine an optimized control value (12) for the at least one controlled variable (5) by means of an optimizer (3) based on an operating model (2) such that a predeterminable cost function (9) assumes an optimum, if an input value (6) of the operating model (2) that is associated with the controlled variable (5) assumes the optimized controlled value (12). At least in case the optimized controlled value (12) deviates from a current controlled value of the correcting variable (5), the power plant is operated at the controlled value (12) determined. For this purpose the operating model (2) comprises input variables (6) and output variables (7), wherein the operating model (2) at least implicitly describes a dependency of the output variables (7) on the input variables (6). Preferably the operating model comprises a neuronal network (4).
