A method and an apparatus for determining a normal of a 3D planar surface are described. For a 3D scene including a 3D planar surface, multiple images that show different views of the 3D scene are received (10). A set of point correspondences from the multiple images are extracted (11). Image gradients for the multiple images are determined (12) based on the set of point correspondences, and a normal of the 3D planar surface is then determined (13) using the image gradients. |
