The device (10) has two triangular shaped longitudinal folding cones (22, 24) to receive an assembly of partial superimposed strips e.g. paper strips. Each cone respectively includes inlet edges (22A, 24A) extending along a transversal direction and folding points (22C, 24C) pointing in a longitudinal direction of the strips. The cones are movably mounted with respect to each other along the transversal direction to adjust a distance between the folding points, and shifted in a manner to be displaced along the transversal direction to partially overlap the cones.
