<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device capable of performing a stereoscopic map display matched with an undulating state capable of being sensuously recognized by a user. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 102 reads map data including the altitude value of each point on a map read from a hard disk 22 by an HDD 20 and stored in a buffer memory 104. Further, the control section 102 sets an altitude value for three-dimensional display indicating a virtual altitude value in the three-dimensional display of a first point determined in accordance with the difference between the altitude value of a first point and the altitude value of a second point around the first point on the map contained in the map data contained in the map data.
