A diamond discriminating method is provided to discriminate synthetic diamond from natural diamond, evaluate diamond according to diamond types and grade diamond through a systematic method. A diamond grading method includes a step of measuring sample diamond with FT-IR(Fourier Transform Infrared) spectrometer and analyzing spectrum characteristic peaks to determine five types, a step of measuring the sample diamond with UV-VIS-NIR(Ultraviolet Visible Near Infrared) spectrometer and analyzing spectrum characteristic peaks to judge that the sample diamond to be synthetic or natural, a step of measuring the diamond with PL(Photo Luminescence) spectrometer and analyzing spectrum characteristic peaks to determine whether radiation processing is performed on the diamond, and a step of evaluating color, clarity, carat and cut through naked-eye inspection. |
