<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor capable of minimizing the delay of the start caused when a large amount of liquid refrigerant is accumulated in a crankcase. <P>SOLUTION: In the variable displacement compressor 1, a plurality of pistons 9 are reciprocatingly moved in each cylinder bore 8 by the swing of a swash plate 15. The variable displacement compressor includes an air supply passage allowing the crankcase 10 to communicate with a discharge chamber 21 and an extraction passage 25 allowing the crankcase 10 to communicate with a suction chamber 20. The tilt angle of the swash plate 15 is varied by regulating a crankcase pressure, which is equal to the back pressure of each piston 9, by regulating the amount of the refrigerant flowing through the air supply passage. The reciprocating stroke of each piston 9 is varied varying the tilt angle of the swash plate 15. The variable displacement compressor further includes a low-pressure side check valve 30 for stopping the reverse flow of the refrigerant into the crankcase 10 through the extraction passage 25, and a high-pressure side check valve for stopping the revere flow of the high pressure side refrigerant in a refrigerating cycle into the crankcase 10 through the air supply passage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
