PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the part cost and to heighten the efficiency of handle fitting work by decreasing the number of parts constituting a return mechanism. SOLUTION: A door handle device X includes: an inner seat component 4 mounted on an inner wall surface 1a of a door 1; an outer seat component 5 mounted on an outer wall surface 1b of the door 1; a rotating square shaft 8 penetrating through the outer seat component 5, a lock box 6 and the inner seat component 4, including the door; and an inner handle 2 and an outer handle 3, which are respectively connected to both projecting ends of the rotating square shaft 8, wherein at least the inner seat component 4 or the outer seat component 5 is integrally provided with an elastic displacement return part as a handle returning spring abutted on each outer peripheral surface of the interior of the rotating square shaft 8.
