PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device having excellent operability, while determining a selected path in each hierarchy and a hierarchical depth, even when menus are displayed while hierarchizing setting items. SOLUTION: The measuring device is improved more than the one which displays menus having assigned setting items in a plurality of hierarchies on a display screen. This device is provided with: a plurality of menu keys provided outside the display screen and each for selecting one menu from among menus in an identical hierarchy; a menu display means for newly displaying menus in a low order hierarchy relating to the menu selected by this menu key; and a moving means for moving display positions of menus in hierarchies higher in order than the menu displayed newly by this menu display means to the inside of the display screen.
