The electronic control means (5) comprises a means (6) for detecting saturation of the electric power measured by the power sensors passing via the electrical machines (2a, 2b), a means (7) for determining a corrected range of setpoint values of the electric power passing via the electrical energy storage element (4) as a function of the saturation detection, and a computer means (8) for computing a setpoint value of the electric power passing via the electrical machines (2a, 2b) as a function of said corrected setpoint range, said electronic control means (5) being capable of controlling the internal combustion engine (1) and the two electrical machines (2a, 2b) so as to regulate the electric power passing via the electrical energy storage element (4) according to the computed setpoint.
