<p>The method involves providing a set of magnetic field sensors (MS0-MSn) that are arranged along a linear main direction (L) to deliver sensor signals (H0-Hn) depending on magnetic field strengths represented by a value to be zero. An axial symmetric magnetic field source (MAG) is provided and the magnetic field source is moved along the linear main direction. The sensor signals are received from the magnetic field sensors. A position of the magnetic field source is determined along the main direction depending on the received sensor signals. An independent claim is also included for a sensor arrangement including an evaluation device.</p>
