Reinforced A-pillar of a vehicle

The pillar has an upper part and a lower part i.e. reinforcement (10), that includes an upper edge (11) situated slightly above an upper hinge of a front door of a vehicle. The lower part is formed from a single piece obtained by stamping a sheet metal material so as to avoid a need of specific stiffeners that brace surfaces of the reinforcement. The upper edge partly closes an upper region in the shape of semi-box (12) so as to increase stiffness in the upper region.
