A broadcasting receiving device capable of storing selling date information and a method thereof are provided to calculate a warranty period by storing date information received first through a broadcasting signal as the selling data information, which is used as a reference for determining the warranty period. Raw date information, which is Julian calendar type date information, is extracted from a broadcasting signal(S201). The raw date information is converted into Gregorian calendar type date information if the raw data information is received at first time(S205). The Gregorian calendar type date information is stored in a memory at selling date(S209). |
