<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low profile for a connector for a card. <P>SOLUTION: A contact member 120 is provided with a shoe section 123 in a position which is closer to a tip end than a contact section 121. A housing main body 111 is provided with a support section 114a for supporting the shoe section to be slidable. When the contact section is pushed down by having a card 1 inserted inside the housing main body, the chevron shaped contact section is elastically deformed in a direction making it flat and the shoe section 123 is slid and moved on the support section 114a. The leading tip of the contact member is not moved down when the contact section is pushed down.
