PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a sound signal communicating/reproducing apparatus such as a wireless headphone without degrading reception performance or sound quality, and to reduce the number of components and reduce the cost. SOLUTION: A communication system for sound signals includes a transmitter 1 for converting a modulated sound signal to an electromagnetic field signal and transmitting this signal, a receiver 3 for demodulating the electromagnetic field signal to the sound signal to output the demodulated sound signal, and a transmission medium 2 for transmitting the sound signal from the transmitter 1 to the receiver 3 via the electromagnetic field signal. The receiver 2 includes a speaker 33 having a voice coil 331 allowing the electromagnetic field signal and the demodulated sound signal to pass therethrough, a signal detection circuit 34 for detecting the electromagnetic field signal having passed the voice coil 331, and a demodulation circuit 31 for demodulating the signal detected by the signal detection circuit 34 into the sound signal.
