<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fatigue strength to pitching and tooth missing in addition to abrasion resistance and scoring resistance without increasing the processing process. <P>SOLUTION: The improvement of a gear comprises smoothing a tooth face 2 by gyroscope polishing and randomly forming a countless fine recessed hollows 3 on this smoothed tooth face 2 by liquid honing which causes a fine hard particle to collide together with a liquid, thereby forming a large compressive residual stress on the tooth face 2 by the liquid honing, and improving fatigue strength to pitching and tooth missing in addition to abrasion resistance and scoring resistance without increasing the processing process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
