PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper stacking apparatus capable of drawing out a paper ejection member immediately after a paper ejection switch is pressed by eliminating waiting time upon descending a lift member regardless of the amount of paper stacked on a paper stacking member whenever an operator wants to take out paper. SOLUTION: Two gears are installed on different housings. While the paper ejection member is drawn out, the gear on the same axis of a motor can be disengaged from the gear on the same axis on a take-up gear. After the lift member is relieved from constraints by the gear, a gear-type damper is added in a position contact with the take-up gear so that the lift member does not fall freely during descending, thereby damping the falling speed.
