PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner allowing easy removal of a dust separation and collection unit from a dust separation and collection unit chamber and enabling secure communication of the dust separation and collection unit with a connection pipe formed on a vacuum cleaner body. SOLUTION: A connection pipe assembly 16 formed on the vacuum cleaner body 2 has the following components: a connection pipe part 26 of the dust collection hose which is projected toward the dust separation and collection unit chamber 12 and which has a connection port 2a formed as one end; a sliding pipe part 27 provided on the outer periphery of the connection pipe part 26 of the dust collection hose so as to slide in forward and backward directions of the vacuum cleaner body 2; and a sealing member 28 for sealing between the sliding pipe part 27 and the front rim 14a of a suction connection pipe 14 of the dust separation and collection unit 11.
