<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power module which is compact and can be mounted on any structure, and to provide a motor drive device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The power module constitutes an n-phase inverter, wherein (n) is a natural number. The power module comprises a positive-electrode side module (2) having a positive-electrode power supply terminal, an n-phase positive-electrode output terminal, (n) positive-electrode side semiconductor chips connected between the positive-electrode power supply terminal and n-phase positive-electrode output terminal, a positive-electrode gate terminal connected to the gate of the positive-electrode side semiconductor chip, and a positive-electrode side wiring board for connection; a negative-electrode side module (3) having a negative-electrode side power supply terminal, an n-phase negative-electrode output terminal, (n) negative-electrode side semiconductor chips connected between the negative-electrode side power supply terminal and n-phase negative-electrode output terminal, a negative-electrode gate terminal connected to the gate of the negative-electrode side semiconductor chip, and a negative-electrode side wiring board for connection; and a flexible substrate (4) connecting the n-phase positive-electrode output terminal and n-phase negative-electrode terminal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
