PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver performing maximum likelihood detection by removing influence of multi-path interference. SOLUTION: A receiver is provided for separating a multiple signal received by a plurality of antennas by maximum likelihood detection. The receiver includes an interference component subtraction unit for subtracting frequency dependent components of a channel matrix by using a replica signal, a matrix decomposition unit for decompositing the channel matrix whose frequency dependent components are subtracted into a product of a unitary matrix and an upper or lower triangular matrix, and a signal equalization unit for equalizing frequency selectivity in each received substream by performing frequency domain equalization to each row of the upper or lower triangular matrix on the basis of the upper or lower triangular matrix.
