A drilling device and a drilling method are provided to improve profitability by coupling a drilling carriage with a hydraulic cylinder drive and a rope winch drive. A drilling device comprises a mast(23), a drilling carriage(50) guided along the mast in a movable way; and a drive unit moving the carriage on the mast. The drive unit consists of a hydraulic cylinder drive(40) and a rope winch drive(30). The drilling carriage is coupled with the hydraulic cylinder drive and the rope winch drive. The drilling carriage is connected to the hydraulic cylinder drive and the rope winch drive through a connection device in turn.
