VOLTAGE CLAMPING AND ENERGY RECOVERY CIRCUITS

A voltage clamping and an energy recovery circuits are provided to prevent energy loss snubber when external RB-GTO switching for forced commutation process. A first common connection (PCC1) is connected to a pair of first and the second diodes, and a cathode of the first diode (D1) is connected to a first auxiliary direct current line (DC3). The anode of the second diode (D2) is connected to the second auxiliary direct current line (DC4), and a second common connection(PCC2) is connected with a pair of the first diodes and the second diodes. A cathode of a third diode (D3) is connected to the first auxiliary direct current line, and the anode of the fourth diode (D4) is connected to the second auxiliary direct current line.
