<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device mainly used to operate various electronic equipment and simply constructed to have a good tactile feel. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic body 12 with a plurality of projections 14 radially extending from a core 13 toward an outer periphery of a ball 11 is placed in the ball 11. A roughly cylindrical magnet 18 is placed so as to receive and surround a lower portion of the ball 11. Further, magnet sensing elements 19 are placed below the ball 11 inside the cylindrical magnet 18 so as to face the ball 11. Thus, having no components such as rollers touching the ball and therefore free from bitten dust at a touch point and from a resulting degraded tact feel with dust and dirt, the input device can be simply constructed to have a good tact feel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
