A drive control device for a hybrid vehicle comprises an engine, a motor capable of assisting driving force of the engine, an automatic clutch mechanism capable of cutting off the driving force transmission between the engine and the motor, au automatic transmission provided on the downstream side of the motor, a filter for collecting particulates in exhaust gas, and a control means for controlling operations of these devices. When the filter is regenerated, the control means sets the idle rotation speed high while the vehicle is stopping and sets a predetermined rotation speed for judging the connection of the clutch mechanism to a rotation speed higher than that when the filter is not regenerated in consideration of the increase of the engine rotation speed caused by idle-up control. |
