<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound board for a musical instrument capable of reducing a manufacturing cost, and obtaining excellent sound characteristic, while maintaining good moisture resistance and appearance. <P>SOLUTION: The sound board 1 for the musical instrument which is used for an acoustic musical instrument, and which generates musical sound according to vibration, includes: a sound board body 2 constructed with wood; and a transparent paint film 5 which is painted on a whole part of at least either an upper face or a bottom face of the sound board 2.
