摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing that a chemical material as a to-be-tested object has physiological activity which is similar to that of lithium. SOLUTION: It determines whether the chemical material has physiological activity that is similar to that of lithium, by applying the difference of characteristics between a wild strain of the nematode and a lithium-resistant mutant strain to the lithium. If the wild strain of the nematode can not grow and the lithium-resistant mutant strain can grow in the presence of an arbitrary chemical material, it isi determined that it is possible for the chemical material to have the lithium-like activity. If the wild strain of the nematode and the lithium-resistant mutant strain cannot grow, it deduces that they have functions that are different from those of the lithium. This principle is applied to the arbitrary chemical material and is used for testing whether the chemical material has the physiological activity similar to that of lithium.
