PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image deformation map data correction device and an image deformation map data correction method capable of improving image deformation accuracy when not changing a storage amount of thinned-out map data, and capable of reducing the storage amount of the thinned-out map data when maintaining the image deformation accuracy. SOLUTION: This image deformation map data correction device for correcting map data wherein correspondence coordinate values before and after image deformation are tabled has: a thinned-out map data storage part 36 for storing the thinned-out map data obtained by thinning out the coordinate values corresponding to prescribed pixels from all pixel map data; a map data value correction processing part 37 for forming a map data correction value by performing the correction by a correction amount reducing amplitude of an error from a data point generated by performing an interpolation operation of the thinned-out coordinate values by use of a stored map data value as it is; and a thinned-out coordinate value interpolation processing part 38 for restoring the thinned-out coordinate values as reference coordinate values by the interpolation operation by use of the map data correction value.
