摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing particles having a void structure by which the residual monomer removal speed becomes high while maintaining stable extrusion moldability. SOLUTION: This method for producing the vinylidene-based copolymer comprises a process of obtaining a dispersion having a non-continuous phase of mixed monomers and a continuous phase of water through the continuous phase of the mixed monomers and the non-continuous phase of the water, by adding an aqueous solution of a suspending agent to the mixed monomer containing the mixed monomers of a 85 to 97 wt.% vinylidene chloride monomer and a 3 to 15 wt.% methyl acrylate monomer or mixed monomers containing water of an amount capable of maintaining the continuous phase of the mixed monomers under agitation, and a process of polymerizing the dispersion in the presence of a radical initiator by heating to a polymerization temperature y(°C), wherein the polymerization temperature y(°C) and 10 hr half life temperature x(°C) at 0.1 mol/l of the radical initiator in benzene satisfy the relations: (1) 50≤y≤74 and (2) 0.4438×x+40≤y≤0.4438×x+50.
