The electrical component, e.g. a transformer, has a ferromagnetic core and at least one coil. A current flow through the coil generates a magnetic flow in the core. The core is composed of a number of plates (2) forming a plate packet (1), held together by a bandage (3) around them. The plate packet has at least two openings through the plates for non-magnetic units (5) as glass giber rods (5a) with semi-circular cylinders (5b) and wedge clamps (6).
