PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce a pit dimension in a machine room-less elevator. SOLUTION: When mounting a guide shoe 10 in a lower part of a car, the guide shoe 10 is mounted to be savable in a gap between a braking element 4a of this emergency stop device and a rail 9. The guide shoe 10 is provided with a sliding guide shoe material 10, a frame plate 10j, receiving metal 10b and a link mechanism 10a. The link mechanism 10a is linked by an emergency stop operation lever 8c and a connecting link 11.
