PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film containing an ultraviolet absorber excellent in ultraviolet absorbing performance and transparency and causing less bleed out.

SOLUTION: The optical film contains the ultraviolet absorber represented by general formula (1), wherein R1-R4each represent a substituent; R5represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and Z represents a group of atoms required to constitute a 3 to 10-membered non-aromatic ring with the adjacent carbon atom.
