PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify customization, extension or the like of functions, and to add new marking information without making great changes in existing components for output. SOLUTION: The device for processing images includes: one or more input means which receives data; one or more output means; first filters which control input processing of data from the input means and second filters which control outputs, wherein connection between the first and second filters makes up applications; a marking-type designating means which can designate to the second filter the marking-type information to be assigned to a predetermined image; a marking synthesis service for creating a marking image; an output service which synthesizes a marking image prepared by the marking synthesis service to an output-target image and outputs it; a notifying means provided in the second filter to notify the marking synthesis service of received marking type information; and an instructing means provided in the second filter to instruct output of an image.
