PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction in drying time and high energy efficiency by appropriately detecting clothes even when a part of the clothes is not sufficiently dried, so as to perform the sufficient drying of the whole clothes including the clothes. SOLUTION: A drier includes a heat ray sensor 20 for detecting the temperature of the clothes, based on the heat ray to be emitted from the clothes in a rotary drum 3. Thus, the drying state of the clothes is directly detected based on the detection signal of the heat ray sensor 20, thereby correctly determining whether the clothes in the rotary drum 3 is dried or not.
