PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface analysis method, for detecting even an adhering substance which adheres to the surface of an analysis object sample nonuniformly or in a trace amount, and thereby cannot be detected conventionally, because the adhering substance is lower than the lowest limit to be detected. SOLUTION: The surface analysis method is such that a substance adhering to the surface of the analysis object sample nonuniformly or in a slight amount is collected from a large area of the sample surface, and is then condensed and transferred to an adhesive face of an adhesive substrate, and that the substance is analyzed, by carrying out a surface analysis of the adhesive face on which the high-concentration substrate is transferred.
