PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction machine in which a slide arm is prevented from being extended due to oil leak in a hydraulic cylinder by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In this construction machine 1, the slidable slide arm 9 is installed on an arm 5, and the position of the slide arm is controlled by using the slide arm cylinder 10. When the slide arm reaches the top dead center of the sliding stroke, the part to be engaged 16 of the slide arm is mechanically engaged with an engagement part 70 on the arm side. When the slide arm receives a drive force in the extending direction by the slide arm cylinder, the engagement of the part to be engaged of the slide arm and the engagement part on the arm side is mechanically released.
